In continuing with my introduction to chakras, I bring you the Crown Chakra, also known as Sahasrara. This chakra is located at the top of the head, the crown and allows us to experience mystical oneness with everyone and everything in nature. It allows us to feel that there is a deeper meaning to everything in this universe. It allows us to peer deeper within ourselves and to have an awareness of the sacred self. It is the chakra associated with spirituality.
The color violet or clear/white is associated with the Crown chakra. In the ancient Hindu tradition, the color violet represented the culmination of a person’s being. Amethyst and Quartz crystals are considered to represent the Crown Chakra. Having those crystals in your presence or carrying them on you will help to protect your chakra from negative outside influences.
When there is an imbalance within the Crown Chakra, it can manifest itself through an inability to connect with the spirit and a constant disregard or cynicism directed toward what is considered sacred. You may feel close-minded or disconnected from your body or mind. You may feel that there is no direction in your life, that you are simply existing within it, not working with it. Physically, you may find yourself alone, isolated, or experiencing headaches.
If all is right with your Crown Chakra, you will feel a sense of peace, of elation, that all is right in the world. It is a wonderful feeling to have and will allow you that ability to connect with others on a deeper level.
You can heal your chakra through a number of ways, the least of all being love. Love yourself first and foremost. Love those around you. Let go of your ego and allow yourself to be loved, to see others for the beautiful creatures that they are.
So now, take a deep breath and say it with me:
I am at peace.
I trust my intuition.
I love and accept myself.
