We have entered into a new year. You’re probably sick of hearing the phrase “New Year, New You” by now but the truth is – the start of a new year is a great time for setting your intentions, or your goals, for the next 12 months.

Many of us start the year with so many things in mind but after the first few weeks, we find that these goals have fallen by the wayside. That is okay though. It happens to all of us at one point or another as the holidays end and we find ourselves back into our regular routine.

If you struggle with this, then try establishing a vision board. A vision board is a physical representation of your aspirations. It is one of the most powerful tools that you can have at your disposal for setting your intentions and helping to manifest your goals. They allow you to focus and send out into the universe this amazing energy to help make things happen. It serves as a daily reminder of where you want to be in life.

The best part? It isn’t all that hard to do! A vision board can easily be created in just a few hours in an afternoon. Ready to try your hand at crafting a vision board?

Creating a Vision Board for the New Year

  1. Start by creating your board itself. Fill your board with images that correspond to your goals. If that might be finding a new job, find images that relate to what you might want to do, career-wise. If it’s finding more time to take care of your own self, find images that represent that – bubble baths, books, yoga, whatever you envision your self-care routine looking like. There is no right or wrong here. Your vision board is uniquely you.
  2. Once that’s finished, you’ll want to write your dreams, goals, and intentions down on one sheet of paper. Make sure to sign your name and date it. On that same piece of paper, write “thank you” three times.
  3. Fold this paper up and place it in front of your board.
  4. If you love crystals and wish to include them in this process, take a citrine point and place it on top of that folded piece of paper. Feel free to place other crystals around your board that speak to you. If you want to learn more about how crystals can help amplify your intentions for the new year and what crystals are best, check out this post – Crystal Guidance for the New Year.
  5. Now close your eyes, take a few centering and grounding breaths and when you feel called to — ask the Universe {or whoever you may call upon} to surround you with love and guide you to have the best year yet!

You’ve just activated your board! Congrats!

Caring For Your Vision Board

Remember that while your vision board is a great tool to use for manifestation, don’t focus on only what is on your board. Release your expectations of the process and cherish everything that is coming your way.

Focus on the greater picture and know that some things that may happen only to set us up for the manifestation of our vision board. The power of thought is an amazing thing.

You’re going to want to display your vision board in a location where you will see it daily and can give it a little attention each day, such as on your fridge or even in your bathroom.

Make sure that you don’t place it on the ground. If you place it on the ground, Mother Earth will absorb its energy. Place your vision board high to raise the positive energy and vibrations it is sending out into the world.

With a vision board reminding you each day of your goals in life, you will continue to grow towards reaching those goals. Make sure you take care of your board throughout the year.

If you find that it is getting dusty, take a few minutes to clean it. You may even want to revisit your board at times, replacing images and goals with new ones that better reflect your intentions at the time.

A vision board is a wonderful, constantly evolving tool just as our lives are equally wonderful and equally evolving.

If you notice that you are achieving any level of success, express your gratitude and congratulate yourself!
